An Explainer Video can be an effective way to simplify a not-so-simple message. I teamed up with Alpheus Media to spell out the benefits of Carenet’s® software through a clean and clear presentation.
Alpheus supplied the script and direction while I handled the art direction, illustration and motion design.

Developed this logo, illustration and slogan for a fruit farm on the outskirts of town. Did you know it’s good luck to rest your cowboy hat upside down at night? You’ll wake up to 10 gallons of peaches! Pretty sure that only happens in Texas though.
Shaklee has been making health supplements and vitamins since 1956. This video was used as an educational piece that illustrates the decline in health in the US over the last several decades.
The visuals were designed around a mid-century filmstrip style that transitions into a more contemporary feel as the video progresses. We developed some eye-catchy infographic illustrations to keep the viewers attention and used graphs and statistics to make a compelling argument for the benefits of dietary supplements.
This video has been shared by thousands of people and was also featured on motionographer.com

Now that everyone is fully recovered from last years Huck & Chug disc golf tournament, it’s time for another round! I designed this as a continuation of last years design to be printed on discs and t-shirts. (Scroll all the way down to view the 2015 design). Entrants will receive these prizes for making it through this formidable tourney.
Created this shirt design for pro wakeboarder Mitch Bergsma. If you follow his Youtube channel then you know about his love of the water, GoPros, quadcopters and of course ducks. Pick up a shirt at his online store!

Created this mascot and shirt design for an auto garage / racing team. I’m still not sure where the name came from, but I do know that they have a large garage and race vintage Triumph roadsters. In fact, they recently won the coveted Kastner Cup, which is apparently a big deal in Triumph world. Hopefully these shirts will make them go even faster in 2016!

I included the storyboards for this project to show more of the concept development process. The first idea we had was to show the progression of a person (kid/farmer) as they went through their life and show the progression of the character over time. Gaining weight from a bad diet and living a sedentary lifestyle.
This concept didn’t end up working out because it wasn’t highlighting all of the factors/items that the client wanted to focus on. We needed to touch on many topics such as; fast food, exercise, obesity, local farming, tv watching, breastfeeding and public transportation. All in one short intro that would be used for various shows based on the same subject matter.
So I came up with a 2nd storyboard that hits all of these subjects and seemed to flow much better with the script that Alpheus Media had supplied. This is what we ended using for the final animation, which was done in a low-fi 2D painted style.

With the exponentially increasing amount of data that humans are creating, it’s becoming a problem for businesses to stay organized. Recommind has the ability to solve these issues with their proprietary software and they needed to demonstrate this in a compelling way.
I teamed up with Alpheus Media to illustrate the highs and lows of ‘Big Data’ in today’s business. We used kinetic type, motion graphics and engaging sound design to tell the Recommind story.

A local disc golf course was opening a new set of holes on a piece of property appropriately named “The Badlands.” It’s a rough section of Texas land, the type of place you might find some arrowheads, fossils or maybe even a t-rex skull! A tournament was held and these shirts were sold to fund the new section of the course.

This was used to prep the crowd for the start of the Livestrong 15 event. It would be displayed on a 100 x 30 ft. projection screen.
Working with Alpheus, I came up with this concept of using the word LIVESTRONG as a “loading screen” that would slowly fill from left to right, taking 15 minutes to complete. It would help to build energy and get the crowd to their seats in time for the start of the show.

Poster design for the 5th Annual Hulapache Paddle. It’s a 2 day paddle/campout along Lake Austin with kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddles. The voyage begins at Hula Hut and ends 20 miles up stream at the Apache Shores boat ramp, with an overnight campout at the half way point.
For the past 25 years, Healthy Child Healthy World has been on a mission to wake people up to the dangers in our own homes. This video would need to show the difference between the good ‘ol days and the toxic chemicals found in today’s home.
To tell this story, I combined various contrasting styles of 2.5D illustrated scenes and kinetic type. I used Photoshop to paint each item in every scene separately, then built these scenes in After Effects to give them a full three dimensional environment.
